Last December 15 and 16, 2025, My Care Matters proudly volunteered with Burnaby Neighbourhood House (BNH) to support their Holiday Hampers Program, helping bring warmth, care, and connection to seniors across Burnaby. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to community support during the holiday season, especially for older adults who may experience isolation or financial challenges.

Volunteer activities began at Burnaby Neighbourhood House – South House at 10:00 a.m. on both days. Deliveries took place from Monday, December 15 to Tuesday, December 16, with volunteers picking up prepared holiday hampers and following assigned delivery routes. Each volunteer pair was typically responsible for delivering hampers to approximately 10 seniors, ensuring personal connection and timely distribution.

On December 15, Jan B. represented My Care Matters as a volunteer, assisting with hamper deliveries throughout the community. On December 16, Mercy, Levy, Mark Y., and Rose joined the effort, working together to deliver holiday hampers and spread festive cheer to seniors’ homes. Volunteers worked in pairs to promote safety, teamwork, and meaningful engagement with each recipient.

The Holiday Hampers Program is more than a delivery service—it is a reminder to seniors that they are valued and remembered. Through thoughtful coordination and community collaboration, Burnaby Neighbourhood House continues to make the holidays brighter for vulnerable residents, while volunteers help strengthen neighbourhood connections.
